Hiking in the Great Outdoors

Are you looking for a summer hiking adventure? Where ever you go to take a hike, you will find something you have not likely seen before. Even if you have been on that trail a dozen times before.

The cool thing about hiking is that the trail is always changing, always growing and evolving. It is invigorating to be out in nature where the grass grows and rocks show wherever they be. Whether you prefer forest hikes or other types, you probably know how important the hiking gear is. The right boots can save you from a twisted ankle or a nasty fall.

My recomendation is that you wear pants if you can stand it for a vigorous hike over rough terrain. Pants will protect you from insect bites and the need for strong insect repellant being exposed to too much skin. If you do take a tumble, your pants may protect your skin from scrapes and cuts more than you know.

Getting pants that breath is a better idea than blue jeans. Also consider fabric that has more flexibility since most hiking trails I’ve ever seen can require big steps up or down and in other directions. Supplex from Dupont is one such fabric made especially for the active person. Check out our clothing line to see if there is a pair of pants you’d go hiking in at Beliefitness.com.

Of course, if the heat is getting to you and only shorts will do, cosider capris. They will still protect your knees and be a little cooler for the trip.

Canada is one of the most amazing places for the avid hiker. We have been to several provinces and enjoyed some of the best secret sights of the world up there. Every hike has its own unique blend of peacefullness and adventure. You never know what you will discover along the way.

Enjoy the trip where ever you go and don’t forget your hiking gear. We found this great sight called US Outdoors. They sell top of the line hiking gear. Until next time,  have a great outdoor summer.

Summer Pants?

Do the words summer and pants go together? Sure they do. Most people do not have the luxury of shorts, bathing suits and capris all summer long. Some activities require pants as appropriate dress. Working in an air conditioned office for instance may make pants a wise choice.

The cool thing is that you can still be comfortable, stylish and well dressed in your fitness pants just as easily at the office as at the gym. Check our our line of fitness pants and see if you agree. Some of the lighter colors are just the ticket for this summer. You can take your needed noon hour walking break in the same clothes you wear to work without worrying if you are dressed appropriately.

Being comfortable and stylish at the same time lends itself nicely to dressing for fitness success. If you added a noon hour walk to 3 or 4 of your work days, you would find yourself more productive, and more positive within 2 to 3 weeks of developing your routine. With summer temperatures rising, you may want to walk in an air controlled environment. If you’d rather enjoy the sunshine, you may need to slow your pace a bit or shorten your walking time so that you do not get over heated. Remember to bring along a water bottle to take sips along the way. It will help you to stay cool and rehydrate you as you go.

We hope you enjoy the summer as much as possible. It is such a short season around here. Have fun and keep working on your goal to fitness success.

Capris for the Summer

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:12 pm

Summer is HERE at last! It’s time to shorten the length of your pants. The cool thing about capris is that they are cooler for those summer days but still look dressy enough for shopping and in some cases the office.

Capris in case you didn’t know is a pair of pants cut off just below the knee. They have been in style for several years now and are still the height of fashion. Capris are the perfect fit for street wear and gym wear combined. These classy alternatives give you a chance to show off those fit calves while covering some of those thigh dimples that haven’t yet been worked out.

Tight fit or flare bottoms are a matter of personal preference. The tight leg may be preferred for biking or more demanding exercise plans. They will be less wind resistant and won’t get in the way of gears. The flared leg would be preferred in a more semi formal setting.

What’s the weather like out there?

Filed under: Dress for Success — Tags: , — admin @ 1:36 pm

Whether or not the weather is cooperating with your fitness plans for the day does not have to affect your lifestyle or your mood. It is easy enough to adjust your schedule if you plan for a rainy day. I don’t know where you all live but here where I am has been rather disappointing for June. Our weather has been cold and often rainy.

Getting a move on is just as important on rainy days as it is on sunny days and good overcast warm days. Being prepared makes life a little easier. Good rain gear can make a brisk walk in the rain fun. Make sure the coat or jacket you choose is breathable. I also suggest a baseball cap that has a visor to protect your face and eyes from unnecessary moisture.

Another good idea is to have a membership at a local gym that allows drop in times that are flexible. Join a class in climate controlled locations that are close to home if possible. Consider indoor or out of door sports that go well with the season you are in and enjoy the company of many other sports enthusiasts.

Rainy day fitness can be just as much fun as clear days if you plan ahead for the eventuality. Enjoy the summer while you can.
