Dancing for Fun and Fitness

This summer so far, I have enjoyed several open air concerts and public dancing events. It seems that you can find a place where music is being played almost anywhere during the summer. Whether you like old time music or rock and roll, there is somebody out there entertaining a crowd.

Dancing has got to be my #1 fitness activity. It’s doesn’t qualify for the word ‘work’out. It should be called ‘play’out. No, no that wouldn’t do either. Although now that I think about it, when I’m done, I’m played out :)

No matter what your favorite style of music is, if you can keep a beat, you can probably learn to dance. Last week, I watched seniors dancing to the tune of Johnny Cash and the fiddlers of Perth-Andover Market. It was great to see the grey hairs teaching kids of 5 to 10 how to step to the music.

Dancing is such a great way to work fitness into your life. Not only does it give you a reason to move, but it builds balance into your life as well. Dancing blends many of the best of life into one event. It is a positive social outlet, it decreases stress, and music improves your learning abilities.

The neat thing about dancing is, that it is not a seasonal sport. You can participate in dance by joining a class, going to a nightclub, going to an outdoor concert or getting into a mosh pit in an indoor concert. You can enjoy ballroom dancing, hip hop, salsa, or a polka. There are enough choices in that feild to keep you hopping for a lifetime.

Of course it would be crazy of me not to mention the clothes you can wear while you dance. If you have watched any of the popular shows lately like “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Dancing With The Stars” then you’ve seen the wide variety of clothes and styles related to each kind of dance routine. By and large, the clothes used to practice in are the exact same kinds of clothing used for working out in the gym or on the street.

Check out our line of beautiful shirts and pants. Do you have trouble finding  Dancewear that fits? – quality Motionwear Dancewear and Gymnastics apparel for All Ages www.motionwearstore.com is a good place to go to get it.

That’s enough for today, I’m off to my clogging lesson :)

Summer Pants?

Do the words summer and pants go together? Sure they do. Most people do not have the luxury of shorts, bathing suits and capris all summer long. Some activities require pants as appropriate dress. Working in an air conditioned office for instance may make pants a wise choice.

The cool thing is that you can still be comfortable, stylish and well dressed in your fitness pants just as easily at the office as at the gym. Check our our line of fitness pants and see if you agree. Some of the lighter colors are just the ticket for this summer. You can take your needed noon hour walking break in the same clothes you wear to work without worrying if you are dressed appropriately.

Being comfortable and stylish at the same time lends itself nicely to dressing for fitness success. If you added a noon hour walk to 3 or 4 of your work days, you would find yourself more productive, and more positive within 2 to 3 weeks of developing your routine. With summer temperatures rising, you may want to walk in an air controlled environment. If you’d rather enjoy the sunshine, you may need to slow your pace a bit or shorten your walking time so that you do not get over heated. Remember to bring along a water bottle to take sips along the way. It will help you to stay cool and rehydrate you as you go.

We hope you enjoy the summer as much as possible. It is such a short season around here. Have fun and keep working on your goal to fitness success.

Dressing for Fitness Success

Beliefitness believes that we can dress you for fitness success. What does dressing for fitness success mean exactly? It means dressing in such a way as to encourage you to become what you wear.

Business people have known for years that dressing for success will not only impress potential clients but also tends to influence the owner of the wardrobe to act in a more successful manner. The same rule applies to fitness success.

If the person looking at you in the mirror looks successful, your subconscious mind will live up to that image more readily than if the image you see looks like a slob.

The idea of “putting your money where your mouth is” can be further incentive to working out and getting fit. When you buy a great looking outfit for fun and fitness activities, there is no doubt you will want to look your best in those clothes.

This summer consider what you are wearing. Do the clothes you wear make you want to get into shape? Are you willing to invest in your own fitness success? What is being in great shape worth to you?

Think about it and comment. We’d love to hear from you.

Yes we are up and running and not just in business. Seriously, the weather is perfect this time of year to be up and running out of doors. For those of us who don’t run, power walking is the way to go… Not strolling, walking. Getting back into shape after a long winter, especially since Christmas and Easter banquets is a must if you are to enjoy and endure the summer. Now is the time.
